Two of the strangest skin care innovations
At beautyheaven, we love hearing about new approaches to skincare. These two got our vote for the most unusual this week:
Ever miss a spot when you apply your sunscreen? Not anymore! The world’s first ingestible sunscreen claims to block 97 percent of harmful UVA and UVB rays by making water molecules vibrate on the skin. While the prospect of drinking just 2mls of Harmonized H20 for SP30 protection sounds appealing, the new product has attracted some scepticism regarding it’s efficacy. For now, we think we’ll stick to the old-fashioned slip, slop, slap.
Vitamin C showers
We all know the importance of vitamin C in our diet, but did you know you can also get it in your shower? With a celebrity following that reportedly includes Leonardo DiCaprio, vitamin infused shower heads claim to reduce the side effects of chlorine exposure – including dry skin, frizzy hair and dandruff – by neutralising the chemical with vitamin Cbefore it hits your head. Unsurprisingly, critics are divided as to whether the filters actually provide any real health advantage.
