In-flight essentials

We’re all going on a summer holiday!
Well maybe not all of us but the song seemed appropriate and I hope relevant for at least some of you! Escaping the cold and heading somewhere sunny for a holiday is one of my favourite past times. While everybody else is rugged up and breathing fog, you’re sipping cocktails on a beach while watching the sunset over the ocean.
But to ensure you make the most of your holiday and don’t come back looking worse for wear, there are a few beauty essentials that you should take with you to make the flight to and from your destination run as smoothly as possible.
IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIAL #1 Scholl Flight Socks
Save yourself from swollen feet and ankles on your flight by packing these compression socks in your carry-on. The comfortable socks are designed with graduated compression to eliminate swelling and encourage even blood flow. Plus they’re super warm and in my experience aeroplanes are always freezing!
IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIAL #2 WOTNOT Biodegradable Travel Wipes
Drool, sweat, dirt – you never know what will end up on your face during a long flight so these moist wipes are ideal for freshening up. They’re compact so will take up hardly any room and definitely don’t count as a liquid. Trust me it’s a lot easier to simply swipe your face with one of these than attempt to use your cleanser in the in-flight toilet!
IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIAL #3 Manicare Sleeping Mask
If you were lucky enough to score an amazing deal on your flights, chances are they’re either late at night or early in the morning, so sleeping on the plane is essential. You don’t want to be arriving to and from your holiday as tired and stressed as you were before you left. This eye mask fits comfortably over the eyes thanks to its adjustable straps. Combine this with headphones or earplugs and you’ll be able to block out your entire surroundings and hopefully get some shuteye.
IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIAL #4 Kosmea Hydrating Rosewater Mist
The constant air-conditioning on planes because of high altitude can cause your skin to become dry, tight and uncomfortable. Simply spraying some of this rosewater mist onto your face (and other areas as needed) will help to keep your skin feeling hydrated and refreshed throughout the flight. I also like to give one last spray just before I jump off the plane, so that I feel fresh and ready for my holiday! Not to mention the smell is divine and somewhat relaxing.
IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIAL #5 Vagisil Gentle & Soothing Wipes
Just as much as your skin may need a freshen up, so might your downstairs. Without access to a shower, I like to pack a spare pair of undies and some Vagisil wipes in my carry-on so that I can feel fresh and comfortable when I arrive. They’re flushable so you can easily use them in the in-flight toilet and combining this with a fresh swipe of deodorant can almost be as good as a shower.
IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIAL #6 Avène Cold Cream Lip Balm
You never know who you’re going to meet on an overseas adventure, so ensure you keep your lips in tip-top puckering up condition by packing this little gem in your carry bag. Sleeping sitting up tends to make peoples mouths drop wide open, which can dry out the lips, especially when combined with the in-flight air-conditioning. So make sure to apply Avène Cold Cream Lip Balm before attempting a snooze.

I also agree with compression socks especially if you have the window seat or your in a seat where you can’t get up just to go for a walk of the plane. Trying to do leg exercises is also awkward in a small foot space.

I have to get me some WotNot wipes to try them out. And yes I agree with having vagisil wipes handy when in transit especially if planes have rough toilet paper

I take a really rich moisturiser and/or a sleeping mask and slather it on as soon as I get on the plane

I have a ridiculous list of things I like to have for long haul flights. I love to have my Burt's Bees, hand cream, antibac gel (because there have been too many times I've been caught out in those horrible bathrooms with no soap), tissues, wipes, nail file, deodorant, migrastick, facial mist, panty liners, tampons, band aids, facial products, toothbrush and toothpaste, an eye mask (just recently got the Lilysilk one which is brilliant), a gel eye mask to put on a few hours before you land (so you don't look like a complete monster), pillow, change of underwear, iPhone, ear buds, ebook and my infinity scarf.
There's always more in the bag, but those are the typical essentials. Yup. OCD much?

My most crucial essential is a few kilos of fresh fruits in my small cooler bag and a bag of nuts. For face: foreo, oil clenaser, good rich moisturizer and my deodorant

You can take fresh fruit and nuts so long as you don't take them off the plane and into the new country. You have to eat them or toss them in the quarantine bin. Our Yoh is vegan, plus even the vegan meals on the planes can be very high in sodium.

Those are good picks, I've saved this article. I haven't been on a plane since a child, but I will be traveling soon on a plane, so this helps.
