Facial redness skin challenge – the results

If you suffer from skin redness, you’ll be well and truly familiar with the symptoms – telltale flushed skin, visible blood vessels, and a red, blotchy nose and cheeks to boot.
These symptoms can not only take a toll on your skin, but their appearance is enough to make you want to hide away from the world, or refuse to leave the house without a full face of make-up.
Thankfully, Ultraceuticals has formulated a daily serum called the Ultra RED-Action Complex, which is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of redness. Enriched with kinetin, andrographolide and niacinamide, the serum works to minimise the appearance of surface capillaries, redness and blotchy skin tone. It also calms and soothes skin and delivers deep hydration.
beautyheaven team member Laura decided to take control of her skin redness by undergoing a skin challenge whereby she trialled the Ultra RED-Action Complex for a period of three months.
You can check out Laura’s progress reports from week three and week six to get an idea of how her skin improved throughout the treatment. What was her overall verdict? Let’s find out…
“When I began the treatments three months ago, I was expecting a slight, temporary change in my skin redness, but I was sceptical about whether anything could really alter the way my skin behaved. Before switching to my new Ultraceuticals skin care regimen and Ultra RED-Action Complex, I had a very basic skin care routine that pretty much consisted of one product that I used to cleanse and moisturise. This was because I was worried other products would make my skin drier or – even worse – redder.
I needn’t have worried, though, because the Ultraceuticals products I was given were really gentle and nourishing on my skin, so much so that I’m going to stick with them! I can’t see myself going back to my old ways. The Ultraceuticals Ultra Hydrating Milk Cleanser doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight like other cleanser I’ve tried, and the Ultraceuticals Ultra Moisturiser Cream enables me to wake up to a well-hydrated face that doesn’t look tired and dry. The Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 50+ is the Holy Grail product I’ve been seeking out for years: a high SPF cream that doesn’t look too white or dry out my skin.
And as for the Ultra RED-Action Complex? I’ve been using it every morning and the redness and dryness in my chin area has diminished. It hasn’t gone completely, but I am now using far less concealer and foundation to hide it. It has also changed the texture of my skin in this problem area, meaning the redness that does persist can be covered much more easily without looking too flaky or cakey. It took me a couple of weeks to get the hang of applying it properly (I needed to let it absorb for one to two minutes before applying moisturiser and foundation, otherwise they tended to go on unevenly). However, now I know this trick, I find the serum sits really well under my other products.
I was given the Even Skintone Serum Mild halfway through my trial, and I’m now using it about three times a week. It exfoliates, improves my skin tone and texture and allows the Ultra RED-Action Complex to penetrate more deeply. I can see the benefits in following a full regime such as this one as the products I have been using really do complement each other and I feel my skin is looking its best. Plus, the fact I’m wearing less make-up now is a big indicator of how pleased I am with how my skin care is working!”
To recap, here’s the regime Laura followed:
Ultraceuticals Ultra RED-Action Complex – Once a day each morning after cleansing
Ultraceuticals Ultra Hydrating Milk Cleanser – Twice a day, morning and night
Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 50+ - Once a day after the Ultra RED-Action Complex
Ultraceuticals Ultra Moisturiser Cream – Once a day before bed
Ultraceuticals Even Skintone Serum Mild - Three times a week in the evenings before the Ultra Moisturiser Cream

My skin is much more red due to psoriasis than the lady in the photo's so i'm not sure if this would work for me.

I cant see any change in her skin tone?? Not that she has bad skin or redness to begin with? I did notice her pimple is gone & she has mascara on.

I do suffer from skin redness, but can't say I see the difference. I even think one of the after photos looks slightly redder, but it can be hard to see in photos. I think if you feel your skin is better and more improved, that's the main thing.

Hate to be negative, but I can't see much of a difference between the before & after shot. I'd love to have a range which reduces redness. I have a bit of redness.
